Update

I just finished updating my blog and there are several new posts - so please check them all out.

Spring Break

We took our spring break the second week in April. The very beginning of the week we went to Toluca (outside of Mexico City) to see the Holley family. Ron preached in their new church and I played the piano for their service. On Monday they took us to a park near their home and the kids played and had a lot of fun. Then we had arrachera (a super tender cut of beef) on the grill back at their house. The kids had fun wrestling with Ron and he wore them out - or should I say, they wore him out?

After leaving the Holleys we went for the afternoon on Tuesday at a mall in Mexico City. There we ate at the Rainforest Cafe. The kids had a great time seeing the animated animals and decor there - the food was good too except I couldn't eat much because of my gall bladder giving me trouble. Lydia enjoyed seeing the fish tanks, but wasn't too excited when the gorillas started moving and making noises. All in all - it was a good time.

Andrew is 8!!!!!

Wow! I can't believe how quickly they are all growing. Andrew had his eighth birthday on the 2nd of this month and we had a great time. We went for a picnic lunch (on the side of the road) where the kids could all ride their bikes. Andrew got a new bike for his birthday and since Daniel's bike was far too small for him anymore, we got him one as well. He knows that it is his birthday present in advance. They were all so excited. Andrew did have one good wipe out - and a nice big scrape on his arm to prove it! He has always been the one to get scrapes, bumps, bruises, and cuts! We'll have to invest in some bicycle helmets soon!

Each One is Different

I just thought I would share with you part of a conversation my kids had a week or so ago. Of course, I have always known that they all are very different and unique and I love each one of them. I couldn't help but laugh at what they were talking about. They were discussing what instrument each one of them wanted to learn. Daniel and Andrew were talking how they want to take guitar lessons and Andrew actually wants to learn to play the banjo. Then Hannah began saying how she wants to play a flute because of how pretty it looks and sounds (she is always wanting to be such a little lady). Just to show her little personality, Elisabeth interrupted and said, "I want to play the drums." :) I thought it was so funny. You just have to know Elisabeth - she is always doing things to be different than Hannah. Praise the Lord for each one of my kids!
